Only One Anna University  in future

All the five Anna Universities situated in Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Madurai will be affiliated into one and in future there will be only one Anna University in the State of Tamil Nadu, according to a press release issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

According to the new legislation all the engineering colleges functioning in the State of Tamil Nadu will come under the direct control of the Chennai Anna University and likewise, the Colleges run by the various Anna Universities will also be a part of the Anna University, Chennai.

The examinations conducted by the various Anna Universities will be dispensed with and in future, Anna University, Chennai alone conduct the University examinations with the help of 17 regional offices to function in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The press release further says that this unification of all Universities into one will facilitate the students to get equal education and get world level regard in the field of education.
