ELIGIBILITY and PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION.
Admission to B.Tech. Degree Programme is based on VIT
Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) conducted all over India.
Eligibility
Eligibility
-
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum
average of
60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or
Biology (PCM / PCB)
-
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average
marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM /
PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing
from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of
Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland,
Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh

Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are
eligible for all the programmes
- Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes
Procedure of admission
-
Advertisement given regarding issue of application forms, important
dates etc., in all leading newspapers all over India and notified in
the VIT website.

Applications can be obtained from selected Post Offices / may
be obtained by post from VIT.

Entrance exam conducted in major cities all over India.

Publication of results in leading websites.
- Call for counselling in batches and allotment of branches on the basis of the rank.
Counseling Procedure
- The counselling for allocation of branches to the shortlisted candidates is based on their All India Ranks (AIR) in the VITEEE-2012.
- The intimation regarding counselling dates will be displayed in VIT website and also SMS will be sent to the qualified candidates after declaration of results.
- The fact that a candidate has qualified in the VITEEE-2012 and has been called for and the counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. This will depend upon the candidates All India Rank (AIR) in the entrance examination and the availability of seats.
- Details of various branches offered under the B.Tech. programme in the current year, the total number of seats allocated for each branch, the number of seats already allotted, number of seats still available will be displayed at the counselling centre.
- VIT will, in no way be responsible for counselling information not reaching the candidates. They should check the VIT website: www.vit.ac.in for information on counselling.
- No change of date / time of counselling is permissible.
- The selected candidates will have to submit a DD for 30,000/- in favour of 'VIT University', payble at Vellore.
