Today I read in a leading newspaper that that a student who visited Anna University to purchase application form has been cheated by an unidentified man to the tune of Rs. 2.5 lakhs in the precinct of getting admission in a desired group.  Students, who are very nervous about their admission approach some middle man and  get cheated.

Taking the advantage of the piquant situation of the students, some agents try to cheat the students saying that they can get a seat to the students.  So, my sincere advise is not to heed or approach any one outside the premises of any office.  In case if you want a direct admission, which can be done only by private self financing engineering colleges, you approach the Principal or the Administrative Officer.  

Some Institutions admit candidates directly on some conditions.  So students must the vigilant during the admission time.  Our hard earned money should not looted by the unscrupulous people.

It is  a simple way to get a seat in the desired college.  All the Government, Government aided and self financing engineering colleges will participate in this program and students seeking admission in these colleges will be admitted through this counselling only.

Candidates seeking admission has to apply in the prescribed application form, to be issued by the Anna University, within the stipulated time frame.

Based on the cut off marks, students will be called for counseling and the students with  high marks will have more chances to select the required college.  In the first week, students will have more chances for selection. Students seeking admission in Government and Government aided engineering colleges will be required to pay lesser fees.

Counseling will be held only at Chennai Anna University's Counseling centre.

Students who come from outside the Chennai and new to Chennai, can reach Anna University either by City Bus or other means of transport.  From Egmore railway station, 23C is the direct bus and fromCentral Railway station, they have to come to Saidapet Railway station and from there 5B is the direct bus.  I have given here some simple routes only.
