Extension of last date by Anna University to submit filled in applications

Anna University has notified the last date to submit the filled in application as 31st May 2012.

According to media reports, the last date for submission of filled in applications of Anna University is likely to be extended.  As the plus two examinations results are likely to be announced only on 22nd May 2012 there may not be sufficient time for the students to submit their applications before 31st May after getting the plus two marks sheet and other related certificates from the concerned authorities.

In order to ease the piquant situation, the Anna University has been requested by many prospective engineering applicants to extend the time to submit the filled in application.

So,  in view of the shortage time between the publication of plus two results and submission of filled in applications, there are bright chances for extending the time limit to submit the filled in applications beyond 31st May 2012, according to media reports.

According to press reports and televisions, the Vice Chancellor of Anna University Mr Mannar Jawahar told the reporters on 29th March 2012, that the Anna University will be deciding the date of issue of application form for BE and the Counselling schedule on 30th March 2012.

Anna University will be admitting candidates for various Government, Government aided and Private Engineering colleges through a counseling schedule.  The application and process is termed in simple term Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions i.e. TNEA.

The notification will contain detailed information about the Anna University admission process and hence students who have appeared the Plus Two examinations could very well know the exact position of issue of Anna University Applications on 30th March 2012.

Sold applications - Anna University has released a press release saying that upto 27th May 2010 (5 PM), 1,99,804 applications have been sold so far.


On the first day of issue, 3rd May 2010, 63800 applications have been sold and the least number being 857 applications on 22nd May 2010.

Applicants can go on purchasing the applications till 31st May 2010, the last day for submitting the filled in applications.

Applicants should be more careful in filling the applications and take much vigil in the process of filling the same.
